On July 1, 2009, the two colleges will bring together operations under the name "Southeastern Technical College."

"I feel there is strength in numbers. Together, we can offer our students more. I believe that the merger between these two great schools is going to create an even stronger college that helps the economic development of our communities," said Dr. Cathryn Mitchell.
"The future economic prosperity of Georgia and its citizens is directly tied to our ability to improve the knowledge and skills of our region’s workforce," said Larry Calhoun, President of Swainsboro Tech.
